If you have spent any time in Battlefield 6, you know that flying the attack heli can swing a whole match. It hits hard, feels amazing when it works, and then suddenly you clip a rock and explode. Before you even spawn in, it is worth going into the settings and tweaking a few things, especially if you care about staying alive long enough to make those kills count with a bit of Battlefield 6 Boosting on the side. Switch Helicopter Control Assist to ON. It is not cheating and it does not make the game play for you. What it really does is smooth out those ugly rolls and random flips so the heli behaves more like an extension of your aim. Bump your heli sensitivity to around 65% too. Loadout choices that actually matter
A lot of people get lost in all the weapon options, but the attack heli is pretty straight forward if you want consistency. Heavy Rockets and the TOW missile are the go-to combo. The TOW is the real star. It can delete enemy helis in one clean hit and it chunks tanks hard, but only if you treat it like a skill weapon. When you fire it, do not stare at your main crosshair. Watch the glowing missile itself. It drops a bit the moment it leaves the rail, so aim a little low, then guide it up into the target. It feels off at first, but once your brain adjusts, you start threading shots through tiny gaps and people think you are running some kind of script.
Rockets, bursts and target leading
Heavy Rockets look like something you should just spam into a flag, but that is how you waste half your potential. If you hold the trigger and dump the whole pod, the spread goes crazy and half the rockets hit nothing. Fire in short bursts instead. Tap a few, adjust, then tap again. When you are shooting at moving vehicles, lead them about a heli-width ahead, maybe a bit more if they are really booking it. Against infantry, do not chase the player model; aim where they are running toward. After a while you start to get a feel for how far you can push close passes without slamming into the ground while still landing most of your rockets.
Working with a gunner (or without one)
Having a good gunner turns the attack heli from “annoying” into “how is this allowed.” The new zoom-lock feature helps a lot here. Your gunner can stay locked onto armor or clustered infantry even while you are juking around trying to break missile locks. If you are solo queuing and stuck without a gunner, you can still get creative. The old seat-swap move still works: climb to a safe height, swap into the gunner seat, dump a quick burst of cannon fire into a crowded point, then switch back before the ground fills your screen. It is risky, but it is also how you squeeze value out of the heli when the squad is not talking.
Staying alive and unlocking gear
Survival in the attack heli is way more about positioning than raw aim. If you hover high in the open, you are asking every AA, tank and random engineer to farm you. Stay low instead. Use ridges, buildings and trees to mask your approach. Duck behind terrain to break locks rather than burning flares every time you hear a beep. Pop up, strike, then drop back down and reposition.
